Keeping Your Baby Cool and Comfortable in Hot Weather

Bangladesh summers can be hot and humid, and babies feel the heat more than adults. A few simple habits help keep your little one cool, calm and comfortable all day.

Dress Light

Choose soft, breathable cotton clothes. Avoid thick blankets and heavy layers. A single light layer is usually enough indoors.

Keep Feeding Regularly

Offer breast milk or formula often during hot days. Babies over 6 months can also take small sips of water from a training cup.

Gentle Cool Wipe

Wipe your baby with a soft cloth dampened in room-temperature water, especially around the neck, arms and folds of the skin. This helps your baby feel fresh.

A Fresh, Airy Room

Keep the room well ventilated. Use a fan on low, pointed away from your baby, and keep direct sunlight out.

Plenty of Rest

Let your baby nap often in a cool, quiet place. Many babies love to rest on mom’s shoulder, so plenty of cuddles help too.
